- Farid “Diab10″ Essebar, author of the Mytob, Rbot and Zotob trojans, is in prison in Morooco.
- Ivan Maksakov, Alexander Petrov, and Denis Stepanov are in prison in Russia thanks a botnet they created.
- Robert Moore defrauded internet telephone companies by hacking their network. He is now in prison in the USA.
According to some security experts, there is a perception in the criminal hacker fraternity that they are immune. Not so.
