I've been using Nortan for years. I feel its a good protection program but what makes it better is when it says "scan lookout" you should always click scan. you can stop viruis's before they stop u

hi,
i have been using windows xp from 4-5 years.
in march 2006, my system was infected with a major risk called ''adware''
simply the reason for this is the badly use of internet. i used to visit the websites with pup-ups, adverts, etc. At that time I didnt have much knowledge about the safe use of the internet.
the system was infected badly, eventhough the brouser is closed, I was getting adverts with offensive images! !(mostly sexual)
At that time I had installed the 2006 Norton version, which came with so called ''GO BACK'' and other one was ''GHOST''.
so, i installed all three CDs,
Obviously the system was running at the speed of a snail.
The adware attacked the system:
Now it is my own opinion that , I think that the three programs clashed with each other and created more problems for me: the protection was absolutely nothing at that time.
These days I still use Norton security as I don’t want to trust any other software.
Which is working fine, not perfect.
The Norton that I’m using now is much complicated Now my question still remains that why the software with fewer complications caused problem like that? ? ?
